Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Does anyone notice their cough getting worse in steamy conditions? It sometimes feel worse after having a bath (there isn't a shower in the bathroom) and just now when I've been cooking.

Certainly fully justified but there may be better options. There is a list of local volunteer organisations that may be able to help?

I’m not doing anything for my mum who is about 4h away... tho fortunately she is still fully capable (but trying to isolate as much as possible).

Tomorrow I shall drive to Tesco do my mums shop, and take it to her. Then the van will sit on the drive again until needed.

Hubby is back at work (water board) and has to drive around to the pumping stations. He said the roads are so busy down here and people are not observing rules. Main roads are quite, docks are quite, but the country roads where hunny travels are much busier

@DocM I've been following this summary, it might be a useful resource to add to the sidebar. It's a free-to-view page from the FT called "Coronavirus tracked: the latest figures as the pandemic spreads"

57.5 Degrees of Pain
I did my first proper shop in nearly three weeks yesterday (have been running down some stocks that were getting out of date or using the local farm shop and bakery). Wiped down the food that came into the house, everything else is sitting for a few days in the garage. I wouldn't worry to much but my aged mum is with us.

Flatlander & any others considering SORN: an idea is to contact your insurance company, asking if there's any discount of other conditions in declaring SORN.

Serendips, why doesn't your mum at 85 qualify for priority slots for online grocery delivery? I thought all the elderly (over 70) have been instructed to take extra precaution, and not go out, would qualify for priority. My mum at 83 I had assumed would qualify? Is it just down to each individual company to make up the rule? Confused! :-) G
