Fetch has already put the link the sidebar I was thinking back to all the positives on this thread, the helpful scientific insights, the mathematical modelling, the medical inputs, the tip offs when there is a new change in the guidelines, the tips on where to get flour when the supermarkets were empty, the suggestions on how to exercise safely, the hugs and sympathy to those who have been ill, who have been shielding or who have lost loved ones. Its lovely to have you all around being supportive.

It hasn't so much been the content of opinions, but more how unpleasantly (to me, others may find the presentation palatable) some of those opinions have been expressed.
Hopefully kindness, generosity of spirit, and understanding (all basic human qualities in my eyes) will return (as will the posters who have left).

I agree Doc and when there were no tests locally it was thanks to this thread that I knew to keep trying at odd hours. I felt a bit worried about taking another test when the meedya was full of people taking them unnecessarily but the Zoe app was telling me to ask for one and my daughters temperature meant she would be off school for a fortnight without it. And actually the centre was empty because the slots were released 30 min in advance of starting

Kaysdee, you have such a lot to contend with, and are obviously doing a brilliant job in very difficult circumstances. Thanks for stepping in Fetch. Glad that you can at least chat with your mum MM.

(((kaysdee))) keep going! Very eloquent, you articulated my feelings much better than I could have done. I just felt I couldn't engage for fear of causing more upset.
MM - we are only allowed one nominated visitor for FiL too but it's not the issue for us that it is for you as he doesn't really know any of us and MiL is the obvious person to be visiting. Mind you at the minute we're unsure how long visits will be allowed - I think there might need to be another care home lock down.
Thank you Fetch. I really hope that solves the problem.

While shopping today I saw an unusual approach to mask wearing with a guy having a tea towel folded and tied around his face. This did make me smile.
It also struck me how much I have accepted mask wearing. Way back in March and April I used to think people who wore masks were odd and swore I would never wear one. Now its just second nature and apart from the steaming up glasses (which I largely seem to have been able to manage) it really is no big deal and I hope helps us to contain the virus while we navigate a path through this.

DocM the majority of this thread has been fabulous and I hope it can keep being that too either here or there.
I don’t watch the news it winds me up too much but here I could find the facts from fiction and the access to the many clever people who understand some of the more technical details and of course medical staff who could explain the bigger picture too. Thank you all.

Baz I'm with you on the masks. Early on I couldn't see them ever being adopted here but it's a good example of how the science has found they do have a role and therefore I'm more than happy to wear mine
