No deterrent and not doing anything or issue if fines says they’re not bothered. I saw something that said starting next week parties of more than 15 will receive fines. Enforce the rules they’ll soon cotton on.

And they’ll all get covid and claim £500 back if that’s to be believed too. That he already had a fine he should be locked up. Other countries are doing better because they take no shit. |

With hindsight it feels like a 2 month full on lockdown with nobody coming in or out of the country might have been a better choice last Feb/March...

Yeah hindsight is a wonderful thing. I did wonder right at the start what if we all just stayed in. No exercise no nothing. Government ordered ration packs delivered to your door. All come out in two weeks and it's all over. I'm pretty sure there are some enormous holes in that plan. But it's a plan none the less. |

A 150/200 person party is essentially saying "fuck you" to the nation and could quite possibly lead to deaths. Jail them. Really. This is not a bleeding joke.

In lots of low income areas I cover, sadly I can see a £500 payout leading to deliberate exposure/infection amongst the younger / homeless / low income groups 🙁

twitter.com The option to suppress cases fully has always been available, and it still is. We just didn’t have the leadership to make hard choices. I’d go full blast for that option still. The vaccine is certainly a useful weapon here, but we’re acting like it will solve the problem and I have some doubts that it will. |

Never read anything about abstaining from alcohol and certainly the leaflet I was given yesterday never mentioned it and so I had my usual 2 glasses of wine last night.

We got a very comprehensive leaflet about the vaccination programme. Very detailed indeed. No mention of booze. Fraid best part of three weeks without a dinkie isn't happening here lol.
