I wonder what will happen for Y11 and Y13. My 15yr old was all “yes!”, but that’s just a knee jerk teenage reaction to getting out of something she felt so underprepared for and was so worried about sitting the exams. I’m not sure the alternative will be any easier for her. Poor kids.

Penwortham last time it was once a day that included dog walks as a form of exercise so we both had to do a walk each day. Luckily my dog likes a little run and can then drop him off on way back but you can't run with a young puppy 😔

Boris Johnson on 3rd Jan:
"There is no doubt in my mind that schools are safe, and that education is a priority."
Boris Johnson on 4th Jan:
"I'm closing schools for 7 weeks starting tomorrow."
We can't believe a word that comes out of his face.

But every day of education counts 🙄

He can just gloss over the fact that some kids and teachers, support staff etc, will have become infected today and will take it home

Exams will be cancelled, actually this is worse than back in March because kids in year 11 and 13 have had so little teaching since March

My eldest has struggled since the summer and his expected grades have decreased. It's going to be hard to bring that back this term now.

At least he has his own laptop and doesn't have to share with his brother. Some of his peers won't be that lucky.

I just wonder what they intend to do instead. As horrible as it was for those in 2020, they were almost at the finish line and there would have been a fair amount of evidence for teachers to use. D15 reports she’s done nothing new from September and it has all been catch up from Y10 (when she was actually in school, 3 periods of close contact self isolation!)

Yes exactly. Ds2’s predicted grades are all way below what his teachers said he could actually get in the exams. Almost no teaching from March onwards and lots of breaks from September to December

Fragile Do Not Bend
I can’t quite understand the logic of exercise only once a day but it is what it is.

I guess if I want to have a walk with my husband and also a little run, I’ll have to hand him my coat and bag at the end of the walk and go off running.

I'm guessing as the dog needs to get walked twice a day that will be shared and I'm not running until after lockdown
