We are also in a ridiculously high corona area, with low vax take up.

Booster booking has opened for over 30s fyi (despite it not saying so on the front page). I cant find any location suitable yet though, which is worrying.

Will have another look tomorrow. Going to be January anyway by the looks of it.

Icemaiden I am sure I read somewhere that if you can't book via the online booking system but feel you are due a booster you can phone 119 to arrange a date to be boosted.

119 only have access to the same booking website we do and can’t override anything, they’re mainly to help people who cannot access/navigate the website. My understanding is that booking is opening to all under 40’s next week - though I may be wrong about that. We wouldn’t be able to give him a walk in without aGP letter.

Just managed to move my booster forward to next Friday evening. Could have had it as early as Tuesday but would prefer to have the weekend to feel grizzly.

Seemed to be some new venues available but chose the same place as before as I know there’s plenty of parking.

icemaiden - if he is classed as vulnerable we'd do him as a walk-in. To be honest though asthma (unless very severe) isn't considered to make you particularly vulnerable now so hopefully he isn't at increased risk.

HB - we have been told that we will be going down the cohorts in five or ten year age groups as there's no way we will cope with demand if it's opened up to everyone but what actually happens remains to be seen.

He has mild asthma. The GP did the first jab in March, long before the 18 year olds were due to be done. But this time nothing and the GP is only doing one more booster session, so as he hasn't been invited for that I assume he will have to wait for the under 20s to be called and won't be done until the end of January, 8 months after jab 2.
