In our area, initially people were sent to a vaccine hub (about ten miles from us). But our local surgery is now sweeping up those who were unable to travel. I guess this might be that originally the main vaccine was Pfizer - so the infrastructure was easier to set up at central hubs, and now there's a lot more AZ which can more easily be handled at local GP surgeries. Our local surgery has just announced that they have offered appointments and have the vaccine for all remaining priority 1-4 groups and should meet the 15th Feb target. This will include home visits to the housebound |

that's not the case everywhere Happy- we have a big vaccination centre in Aberdeen at the new exhibition centre, that's where my mum is getting hers. I believe they help provide transport if necessary though.

Grast-girl - I received my vitamin d supply a few weeks ago I think, (can't remember exactly when). Four months supply. Nice small tablets thankfully.

I've been taking Vitamin D for a couple of years in winter. Presenting with extreme fatigue after running hard, blood tests revealed significant levels of deficiency. Was prescribed the usual megadoses which quickly remedied symptoms, and advised to supplement every winter. I use the reasonably pleasant orange tasting spray. |

I think a cursory listen to Rohin Francis would inform even the most sceptical that he does in fact know what he is talking about. The specific reference to Vitamin D is at 9:30 in and I really don't see how anyone can dispute what he says. |

It’s funny, but the covid sceptics I’ve talked to all seem to bang on about PCR tests being ‘unreliable’ and are sceptical about the false positive rate. Whereas really it’s the false negatives they should be worried about. It’s the usual alternative facts approach of dropping something scientific sounding into conversation so it makes it sound vaguely plausible, but without any actual research data to back up the assertions. Anyway, another day, another covid test. At Surrey Sports Park, all very organised and friendly even though the workers were out in the snow. |

What I find funny is deliberately vague criticism.

Putting aside covid, VitD is recommended by the NHS as a protective factor. Do I believe the NHS or Rohin? nhs.uk |

I think that what we are having here is what you might call having a furious agreement, Saint. "Extra" Vitamin D has apparently zero impact. People with low levels of Vitamin D are more likely to be those who are more frail. Therefore there is a correlation between lack of vitamin D and poor health (in general). But the lack of Vitamin D is not the cause of that, |
