What I see continually happening is that people lift their masks to say something or even to hear while not respecting a good distance from each other of 2 metres ( 6 ft in old money) . It seems to me their are a lot of people need help with their hearing and learn to speak more clearly to one another. I did see 5 funeral directors/ bearers out side a church the other day huddled together while having no masks. However, that could be because they’re in a social bubble? That would be right yes ? I’m not sure but wondered. I work on public transport and have seen all sorts behavioural changes but there will be always a minority acting like naughty children imo.

Is there any statistical monitoring of where those who test positive caught the virus.

I assume that there is such monitoring, as it is surely important to know both where transmission is occurring (schools, workplaces, supermarkets, care homes, house parties).

If I am right, it would be interesting to know whether or not the lion's share of transmission occurs at venues where masks are worn (eg trains) or where they're not worn.

You can find articles out there about them. I still think you struggle to know exactly where it got picked up a lot of the time.

Also I get confused how ‘blame’ gets apportioned. My wife is a teacher and we believe she picked it up at school. I then got it off her. So I guess 1 case school 1 case home. But also that could get scored 2 for the school. Also where did that first person get it? Maybe I’m over thinking it.

'A large chunk of the population' ^ seems also inclined to let various types of media do their thinking and deciding for them.

Tim, in my experience, it's extremely hard to pin down. We were very careful, but caught it. We don't know where, but there are a few possible candidates, e.g. my daughter, who remained asymptomatic, brought it from school. I went to the opticians. Impossible to be certain.

Is there any point for us as individuals to see where the contact was positive?

“My friends father, uncle, mother, aunt has had this or that, so it can’t be true”. Or something along those lines is why we are where we are now.
