Here in Scotland, there is unlimited outdoor recreation, sport or exercise, walking, cycling, golf, or running that starts and finishes at the same place (which can be up to 5 miles from the boundary of your local authority area) as long as you abide by the rules on meeting other households.

Inevitably, due to increased pressures at home (eg working from home on the kitchen table, home schooling, lack of social interaction) lots more people want (indeed need) to get outdoors.

As long as these people don't break the above rules, I don't think that any of us here has the right to criticise where they go or what they do.

Different people - different opinions. Doesn’t make them right or wrong - we just have them.

I Leave you to your discussions then.

Absolutely. Unlike some, I value ALL points of view - whether on politics, faith, Covid, whatever.

LG, I agree that in addition to not breaking rules on distance travelled we should all also be minimizing our risk, where reasonable, in order to minimize chance of needing to use emergency services.

However, that judgement of what is or isn't risky may differ between any of us. I will run 10-15 miles up 2000ft height, in -5C snow and ice. I've also been skiing. Both of those might sound risky. My assessment is that they are reasonable and within them I have taken every possible precaution. However some might call that reckless and selfish. I obviously wouldnt think that. So to me it can still be a matter of different judgements. :-) G
