What are these funny looking headbands all about at the Olympics then? Anyone tried them, got one, recommend or otherwise? Look a bit odd to me but then again, so did super shoes at first.

Not for me. More important IMHO to keep sun off my face so always wear a visor or baseball cap.

@auburnette I'm very sensitive to the sun but have done events in fairly hot weather 30+degrees and managed better than those that don't protect themselves from the sun on their heads/faces.

I suffer in the heat and a buff works well for me, either folded over as a straightforward headband or worn covering the bald pate and back of the neck. Mostly ordinary buffs, a couple with neoprene peaks. With water poured over them or self-wetting from my prodigous perspiration.

£190, say what??

Although I see that some of the reviews are from people doing Ironmans so I suppose that if you're at elite level that kind of money is worth it if it gives an advantage.
