I've no local knowledge, but checking google maps (and shifting some comparison further north) you look that you were an impressive distance out. A very impressive distance at that.

Actually there's much less beach at Hunstanton than generally around there. At Wells the sea was 1.2 miles away from land when we were there and that wasn't quite low tide.
