They were 'rebuilding' the stadium when we went by. I was wondering if Finland was preparing to leap in and re-host the Olympics (when Rio was looking a bit behind schedule)

Never been to Finland, Finland, Finland. But it's the country where I want to be 😉.
Sadly with foreign travel being a lottery I'll stick to visiting bits of Scotland and trying to sneak into the coveted 16th place in the All Time Explorers table.

Olympic stadium renovation was completed last week, it is now open again! Don't think Helsinki wants to host the Olympics any time soon though, but the stadium ist the biggest one in Finland, and since the male football national team is becoming more popular now there is a need for a big stadium.
Almost all infrastructure from the 1952 Olympics is still present and in use. (pools, sports halls, velodrome, rowing stadium etc.) That's another suggestion when you visit Helsinki: do a 1952 retro tour and visit all of them. There is a biking tour suggested somewhere, can't find it right now. And, very important: drink Lonkero, the iconic grape-gin-Longdrink that was invented for the Olympics and is still super popular in 🇫🇮.

Go to undiscovered zone today! Had fun naming them as there are no marker in the zone at all (not even the footpath is shown (I was following an OS map)
I ended up with North of... and Between...

I like to include emojis in zone names too. Makes it easier to remember them, and looks less boring too

I like it when someone comes up with an amusing name for a zone, rather than just the usual place name. It makes it more interesting.

Three undiscovered zones for me today. Worth running on roads with no pavements
