My Garmin has 4 settings - Run Walk Swim and Other - I set it to 'Other' for walks and they get imported automatically as Cross Training
I sometimes forget to switch back to Run so some of my runs get logged as Cross, but conversely I sometimes forget to switch the other way, so I win some, but lose some

I wish I'd kept my garmin on around Rome. On top of the marathon, we walked miles and miles and I didn't conquer a single zone :( (I put in 2 extra runs as well but still not enough.)

That'll be those Romans for you. They were excellent at covering long distances on foot :)

Interesting reading the wide variety of approaches taken and the rich tapestry of what different folk regard as training.

I've recorded a walk across a road and back from a hotel and claimed two zones. A bit cheeky but I have subsequently ran there.

I've had to be a bit more creative since I injured myself - I don't really run any more but try to make up for it by walking long distances.

Chris - not sure about why you'd add 'all lifetime cycling'? That does seem a bit beyond the aim of the game, maybe? Yes, I'm a zone-grabbing cyclist but I'm not adding stuff I cycled before Fetch even existed; that seems a step beyond the bounds of the game.

Having said that, I imagine we'll all be relegated a position or two when someone inevitably joins Fetch who has just spent the last five years circumnavigating the world

Interesting debate. I go by the rules on the Conquercise game: "Your mission is to visit as many as possible, under your own steam." Doesn't say anything there about the purpose behind the visit.

Just wait until I upload my epic "cross training - rest" session on my fpight back from a holiday in Australia.

In all seriousness, it is a bit of fun and if it gets people out a bit more visiting parts of the world, that is a good thing. I've definitely extended training runs or walks to tag or conquer new zones. I've probably been done out of a zone or two due to misstatement of run/walk swim but so be it. I'm not exactly troubling the leaderboards.

Now training log hexagon chasing, that is fun...

The reason to put a lifetime's cycling in would simply be because it is a big part of my history and my life, and I would like it all to be recorded in one place. I know it is against the spirit of the game, and that is why I haven't done it in the years since CQ was invented.

But if I'm going to start cycling, then I feel as if I want the whole lot.

An alternative would be to show the zones on Google Earth without going via Fetch. I expect I could manage that one rainy day.
