That looks great Synge. Who do you manage the domain with? Is it 123 Reg domains? Or Blue Host? Out of interest, why didn't you go with an email @lucysynge.co.uk address?
Yes, I need to do something similar for my wife, but she wants integration with YouTube videos and bookings, payments and will want to put up blog posts and all sorts, so not sure WordPress is way for me to go.

We use Bluehost. We wanted to keep costs down, so we didn't go for the many payable extras that are available, such as a linked email address or a shop front with automated payments. For a low volume business like this, that seems to work OK and I don't think the lack of an online payment option puts prospective customers off. The website is pretty much a gallery and my daughter tends to use instagram to find customers and lead them to the site.
There are lots of separate apps that can be used with WordPress for those kinds of things that you mention, but there is usually a cost for each. Although, as you may know, a lot of people seem to select WordPress and configure it so that the home page is effectively a blog rather than a relatively static page.
I suspect many people start out with WordPress and then maybe move to something else if they want more functionality. Having said that, I work with a primary school near here that has a perfectly good site on WordPress.
Final disclaimer: we know the site doesn't display brilliantly on a mobile device, but haven't convinced ourselves that the benefits of addressing that outweigh the effort of learning how to improve it!

(Many years ago, I did Tandem mainframe coding but I suspect that’s of little use to anyone. And I dabbled in Sinclair BASIC 😅).

I'm in the process of creating another website using Bluehost and Wordpress and I realise that I have forgotten almost everything from last time round - I'm having to re-learn most of it! It's an enjoyable challenge, though.
This one will have a shop, so I'm using WooCommerce for the first time and so far it seems to be falling into place. I have created a test product and bought one of it with my credit card, so we are just waiting for the net proceeds from the sale to reach Dr S's bank account, then we'll be a big step closer to launch!
Oh, and I have found out how to activate the email address "admin@[domain].co.uk, which I thought would cost extra. Very handy, because the website seems a lot more reliable when sending email notifications to this connected email address than to an unconnected yahoo.co.uk address.

To be fair, it's quite basic, but it gave me enough of an idea of what was going on to be able to use it together with the on-screen stuff to do the basics! It looks as if there is a third edition now.
