Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Do you have a specific issue you can share? I do use Java a bit when Matlab just won't do what it's told (Matlab is Java underneath)

I'm trying to build a foreground service that will continue to build a GPS trace when the app is dozing / locked. When it wakes, the main part of the app can just grab the updated version of the trace and update stats etc.

The examples I've found are either in Java, or they feel unnecessarily convoluted. Either that or I just don't understand. Which is also quite likely.

I've been dabbling with Python recently, and playing with its application for data visualisations. Most of my work is with XSLT/XML related things to create Word documents.

Fetch - Have you had a look at FitoTrack? codeberg.org

It is what we use on the phone and is very good. GPL so code is there to see what is going on.
If it's a Fetch app you are developing, you could just fork it, bolt on the auto-upload which would be easy enough...

Mostly work in python / scala / spark but nothing of use to you I'm afraid!

Here's to hoping the gotcha moment is satisfying though!
