Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

the cakes all look lovely. Mine is just fruit cake with no decor. PC Bakewell is disappointed about the lack of marzipan, so I've bought him a box of marzipan fruits - he'll have to have alternate bites :)

Mince pie pastie??

I don't like all the fruit cake stuff either, but I'm in the minority. I had to advise a patient last week- no mince pies, no Christmas pud, no Christmas cake. All because of the pesky dried fruit. I thought at the time I wouldn't mind that directive! Sponge cake and chocolate mousse is fine for me!

Has anyone tried one of those Morrison’s Christmas Dinner pasties? Or seen one even? I’ve looked over the last couple of weeks but our Morrison’s never have them on the shelves.

My mum would make great mince pies (her short crust was shorter than short) and then would make a mince meat pastie with what was left. Also jam pasties too :-)

No cake here either. It's not as if we are going to starve if we don't have it ;-) They'll eat what they get given and like it!! I am expecting raised eyebrows at the very least that I'm not serving the sort of Christmas Dinner (Lunch) that my mother has always served.... but..... nobody will go hungry.

No cake here either. Sort-of-stepson sometimes makes one. He may or may not turn up with or without a cake.

Lard based pies. Nothing like it. And those fruitcake things with 100 per cent sugar icing on top. That and a cup of tea after a 10k is heaven.
