We'd probably have insured the Siamese cats if pet insurance had been much of a thing in 1990, and although they were free range cats it would have been a waste of money since they didn't need much veterinary attention. Tizzy and Tinka were already five years old when we got them second hand, and Tofu was a stray of uncertain vintage, so we didn't bother insuring them.
