Louis is not insured because we could afford to pay any plausible vet bill. In this we are most fortunate.

See that’s the thing Glenn part of me says just save the premium each month as we too could afford it.

I looked into insuring Caspar and Ellie from kittenhood. Our last two were uninsured. Lenin racked up about £1000 vet bills in a week at one point (inpatient stay trying to save his kidneys); Pablo had £900 in dental work removing 12 teeth at one point and end of life care (regular consultations, ultrasound, blood work, meds) probably amounted to at least £1000. But over 12 years (Lenin) and nearly 16 years (Pablo) we'd have spent a lot more in insurance than we actually spent in bills.

I can't remember the exact monthy premium quoted for Ellie & Caspar but it was an amount which made me think we'd be better off sticking it in a savings account instead and drawing on it if necessary.

I just put £20 aside each month. That pays for boosters, flea treatment and working and I have been luck so far and not had major costs with any of them *touches wood*

£12.5k is like £30+
Even 6k is £20+
He’s a house cat so would be unlucky to get injured I think
And as a kitten shouldn’t get ill yet 🤞

My cats are on a 'healthcare plan'. It covers all their vaccinations, worming, flea treatments and an annual checkup. The package also gives me 10% off cat food bought from the vet, microchipping and neutering. It costs £17 a month for kittens and £15 for adult cats.

Your cat is managing to look as evil as Louis, Dio, which is very impressive.

Louis has the most amazing cat face.

Kata is trying her best to look very cross with me today because it is raining but still cute. She's gone off to see if it is any drier but I fear she will return even crosser.
