Eventually heart failure did for him, but he was seventeen, which is very old for a Persian. Newish cat Tilly also has a murmur the vet says, but it's nothing to worry about according to her (the vet, not Tilly).

Ellie might have one too - vet is not 100% sure as she said sometimes it's just a sign of stress in the vet surgery.
