Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

C Block - there's no place like it.

[Having been out of this game for six months, I am now gainfully employed by an organisation with a whimsically-named Intranet site, Yammer groups, daily/weekly sit-downs, stand-ups and shake-it-all-abouts, and all the stars, wows, cheers and hoo-hahs you could wish for. I will doubtless be reporting in soon :) ]

Please can all staff remember to have their door fob with them when exiting the main building at B Site.

It has been noted that some staff have not been taking their door fob and then climbing over the Reception desk if the Receptionist is not available (the evidence is in the boot marks on the desk!)

there's another explanation for that, which would also explain why the receptionist isn't there/

Please note that, due to maintenance work on the Block 72 Electrical systems, there will be a power outage tomorrow between 7am and 9am.

During the power outage –

The main lights will be off and only the emergency lights will be in operation. It should be light enough, but please take extra care during this time.

The computer system will be operating on backup power – You can use your PC as normal, but please only turn on equipment that is absolutely necessary.

There will be no power in the kitchens and stairwells i.e. no vending machines and no kettles etc working

The lift will not be in operation.

IMPORTANT –
To minimise load on the UPS, please turn off your PC, monitor etc before you leave tonight.

The work is to allow the inspection of the electrical system to ensure safety for all.

Thank you for your cooperation.

So if the receptionist is available, do they climb over the receptionist?

Our intranet is called The Pen. It can be known as Le Pen to our French colleagues and also followed by "is" wherever possible. It was voted by colleagues out of a choice of 5 names. The PenIs the winner! Email was great
