I was on a charity place the first year I did it and I started fairly far back but then I did have my predicted time as about 2.15 I think. Running Mum, I'll be off to bet on you once they are open. I did 2.07 for my first one (first ever half), then 1.59 the next year (another pb) and then I joined a running club and got 1.49 last year :-). My PB is currently 1.45 and I'll be out for a PB again - 1.41 would be 2 minutes a mile quicker than my first one but I think that's a bit of a pipe dream! |

Anyone got a link to one of them map my run type things of the course that shows the elevation ? I'd do it myself but I'm completely useless at it - took me longer than my 21 mile long run last year to plan the route when my Garmin refused to wake up that morning! |

LOL thanks - obviously I can't use the website properly either! Looks like a good course to me - I think up an down gives you a wee sort of break an uses different muscles (a that's the idea I'm sticking with as I use it to convince me uphill is actually a good thing :s ) |

If go to the Great North Run site, they've put their history of the GNR back. Click on the link for all 30 Club, then click on the 5th name in the left hand column, to find out my thoughts on the GNR. Next go the the photo wall, which is a montage in the shape of a number 30, roughly half-way down the middle set of photos, your truely, taken in 1983. |
