Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

That is very very similar to the runs that I was doing in preparation for Comrades last year SPKoF, as I work in Nottingham. I have only managed this once so far this year with one thing or another. Carlton Road, Porchester Road, Breck Hill Road, Woodborough Road and all the wonderful hills off it. I was thinking of getting a bus up Carlton Hill or to Mapperly Top, running down, getting the bus back up, repeat until quads mashed.

DO you think running down hotel stair cases might achieve the same aim? THen get the lift to the top and repeat?

I used to do winter training in the stairwell of the 44 floor Corning Tower when I lived in Albany NY (with its tough winters). Both us and down would mash the legs.

Becca - it's Kenrick ave that does it for me! 17% incline, even if it is only for 100m is so tough

I know. That one feels like stepping off the edge of the world. Somersby is another good one for quad abuse, a bit longer than Kenrick.

Great 5k park run for me yesterday in 18:20. Only 1 second off my all time pb on a twisty turn course. Happy Days. Last long run for me today, slightly longer than planned at 23 miles.

Bring the taper on.

Good, fast 5k time, PC. And well done on the long run. I've completed the last 20 miler of my Boston training, with the last three miles at marathon less 10-15 seconds. Still have some tough speed work to do.

Thanks to the first break from winter weather, I was able to do a workout at the track yesterday evening. 3 sets of 800, 600, 400, 200, at 6:00/mm pace with a minute recovery between each, and a 5 minute recovery between each set. No nearly as challenging as the workouts I was doing last year, but not bad for the first track session this year.

Strange work out that Frank. Whats the idea of reducing the distance whilst keeping the pace the same? Isn't it usual to increase the distance whilst keeping the pace constant? Still I am sure it was great to blow the cobwebs away.

How's the weather doing?
