Incredible contrast between the 2 sets of results....
4 x women with course records and Flanagan sets a 3 min PB with Davilla not far behind ,all great performances.
Meb wins in a PB, but the africans were way down on capabilities albeit one or two other americans also ran decent times. Makes you wonder what the africans were thinking

Flanagan ran a brave but stupid race, was never going to be able to sustain her early pace. The men's field was pretty poor by WMM standards.

Not sure if true, but just read Flanagan within her 2:22 also spent 90 seconds vomiting before resuming running. Either way ,a 3 min PB suggests a great run ,even if she started a bit too fast.
I think she ran a race that in most years would have given her every chance of winning, unfortunately though she acted as pacemaker for the kenyans.
