Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

You've seen out the 2010s, Maccers-Gooers? Oh well done. Does Mr Trump get a second term?

After Seren's comment, I'm musing on whether it's more like Beethoven or V in Morse. Probably Beethoven, Morse isn't artistic enough.

Definitely Beethoven. Which in turn makes me think of HG2G

CW was in the library so I'm ready to go for this month. It's probably just as well we've got an extra month as it's quite long!

Also picked up It's Hard Being A God by the Strugatsky brothers and a new Scarlett Thomas book. I loved The End of My Y so I'm looking forward to this.

Hard to be a God is on my to-read list, as well as my to-watch list - my friend who wants to do a PhD on Russian SF says the movie is very good.

I did read The Old Devils (think that's the title) by Kingsley Amis but I didn't enjoy it, N-O. But I think he's really not my type of writer.

I'll let you know what it's like, Badger. I loved Roadside Picnic so I'm hoping this is as good.
