I have it on the TBR pile. I think Liebling read it and was so-so about it

I was a bit rude about the Horovitz books within books on Glenn's blog. I liked reading that thread^ just now. Had forgotten it was a Fetch book. Linds - your comments are exactly what Raffo is thinking at the moment. We watched the telly Magpie Murders first - and - unusually it's an improvement. The stories much more interwoven and Lesley Manville always worth the price of admission. As for Richard Osman - neither Raffo nor I at all impressed. Just couldn't care less about the characters, and I thought it was clunky. Not bothered with the follow ups. |

The Hawthorne/Horovitz just become increasingly annoying. Ok-ish for v light reading but I found myself skipping cos I was bored. The 'device' just gets tiresome.

The second Osman is better than the first. He is trying less hard to be clever and the whole thing improves as he relaxes the task. It's still clunky in parts.

Felt the same as Sharks about Osman. Some of the characters very recognisable though. But I have enough of them irl

But what if it’s the Sainsbury’s man that’s the victim? MiL Marple is prime suspect.
