I loved American Pastoral. It starts with such energy and anger. My paperback also has a great cover.
Mine has a ripped American flag on it, and is otherwise plain white, except for the words.

Anyone here a fan of Sci Fi? Just approaching half way through the third and final book of Liu Cixin's Remembrance of Earth's past trilogy and it has been a great so far (4/5 or 9/10). I don't yet know how it will end but I highly recommend it

Mine has an old photograph in flames with part of the page missing, "burnt" away.

Yes. I really bogged down in volume 2 though, and never finished them. I may revisit. One very well read friend also bogged down but really loved it on a later attempt.
Currently reading Al Reynolds latest, Inhibitor Phase. Miserable but page turner, for me.

I've stuck American Pastoral on my 'to read' list.

I have American Pastoral in my TBR pile (probably next year) Fever Pitch this year read Al Reynolds' "House Of Suns" earlier this year (excellent) and Liu Cixin's "Three-Body Problem" for later this year too so seems like we're all on the same page(s) here ;o) oh, and I am currently enjoying "The Caravaners" by Elizabeth von Arnim which was written in 1909 and is *hilarious*
