With no GPS how is his time/course checked and seen to be valid? Does he have a tracker on or is their some other way of validation?

The fact that he did it without GPS is a personal choice and not really a relevant statistic, but it was clearly something that he wanted to be publicised as part of his personal challenge. Quite impressive though.
