Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

The WhatsApp group is saying that for the first time since Loweswater JK was hitting the planned splits on the leg into Duddon Road which bodes well.

Apparently not only is John ahead of all previous individual attempts (going to be around 9 hours in front of James at Tilberthwaite, though some of that will unwind when he sleeps) but he is also currently an hour ahead of the Durham Fell Runners relay round last year!

Hope he’s eating/digesting better than his last couple of outings

I get the feeling that JK has, hopefully, cracked his good thing considering his run at Berkeley. Plus he’s just had a very lovely European holiday 😀 Can you count that as resting when you have four kids? Good sleep deprivation training….

There seems to be lots of talk this morning about his choice of pie (macaroni) so it sounds like he's eating OK. He's now past where he reached last time. By my calculations he is around 4 hours behind his own schedule and 7 hours in front of James.

He slept at Langdale for about 1.40, next sleep seems to be being rescheduled for Kentmere tonight (likely to be early hours of Thursday). It was supposed to be at Martindale but he's bringing it forward to not waste light.

I also read that diatribe on pies and although I know there wasn't consensus, I definitely side with the detractors - macaroni cheese smells like sick and a macaroni cheese pie is pure blasphemy 🙂

If I did endurance challenges that included sleep restriction, macaroni pies would be high on my list of things I'd be likely to want to eat.

(Yuck, but I hate cheesey sauces of any description)

7 hrs is a huge amount to take off James’ time at this point

I'm with the raptor on this one. Pie and Macaroni together is definitely two big positives for the price of one in my book 😀
