Regards the supported/unsupported differences - just listened to a interview Martin Stone did with Finlay 2 weeks after he did his BGR. Very interesting, over an hour long.

Martin stated that it is generally accepted that at the sharp end a Bob is 30 mins quicker than a Ramsay. Given Finlay did 13 hours exact for his Bob then in theory he should be able to do 13:30 for a Ramsay, and as his record is 14:45 then the benefit of being supported is approx 1:15, it was interesting that Finlay didn't seem to agree or disagree, just " Ehm yeah, possibly...."
I think Finlay was having trouble trying to work out where he could have picked up an extra 75 mins on his CRR!!!

I've never heard the 30 minute difference before but it's interesting that taking a previous CRR record holder (Jasmin) as a test case it doesn't stand up too well.... Jasmin's CRR was 49 mins slower than her BG and I'd have said her CRR was the better round and relatively a faster time. Though to be fair to Martin it still suggests that the benefit of support could be implied to be worth 30-45 mins...

I’m glad to see we’ll get to Eskdale next week after the JK Show has passed through. Although it should make for good for watching.
Totri: we’ll wave on Sunday when you pass the campsite.

Just seen a video on Twitter of him running in to Borrowdale. "There's pizza here" :-)

I picked up from Twatter that the erstwhile FRA Chairman offered Steve Birkinshaw a GPS device to help him navigate leg 1 :-). Lots of irony there....

Apparently Steve declined.

If flyingfinn is about, how's JK doing against his ambitious schedule that you hinted at ?
