Impressive indeed
I’m doing the full Yorkshireman again next month plus we’ve entered the Round Rotherham 50 in October. This year with Covid still around it just didn’t feel the right time to do the JNC. I need to get stronger before contemplating an attempt. I’m going to take stock tail end of this year

The CT would be a good warm-up for an attempt at a JNLC.

Looks like Nicky Spinx took Carol’s record yesterday/this morning then.
From the inov8 lot:
Congratulations to Nicky Spinks, who set a new women’s Lake District 24-Hour Record this weekend.
Nicky reached Braithwaite, in the UK Lake District, at 2:45* this morning (15th August 2021), breaking the previous fantastic record of 65 peaks set by Carol Morgan in 2020.
The challenge sees runners summiting as many peaks over 2,000ft and returning to the same starting point within a 24-hour period.
The record can be broken by:
▪️adding another 2,000ft summit (which also needs to be more than 0.25 miles and involve at least 250 feet of descent/re-ascent from the nearest other peak). ▪️summiting the same amount of peaks as the previous record, but doing so in a faster time.
Nicky summited the same amount of peaks as Carol did in 2020, but did so in a faster time – summiting the 65 peaks and returning to the start in Braithwaite in 23 hours and 45 minutes*.
*The exact time, to the second, is yet to be officially confirmed.
Prior to Carol setting the previous record of 65 peaks in 2020, Nicky held the record with 64 peaks, set in 2011.

I've just been going through the ratification process for a couple of recent Frog Graham Rounds, both successful I think. I guess we've all seen (or been guilty) of heinous navigational errors in the past, but I believe I might have seen the mother of them all: Everyone knows the FGR leg 1 route don't they? From the top of Skiddaw it's a fairly straightforward descent down towards Carl Side and then Dodd Wood, before crossing the road and the trail down to Bassenthwaite etc. Without mentioning any names, the person in question carried straight on from the summit of Skiddaw, bagged Bakestall then down to Cumbria Way. They carried on for a while then doubled back via Peter's Farm etc and came down to Bassenthwaite Church from the NW, adding what I estimate is an additional 6.5 miles to their route! Flipping heck eh? Still a valid round though

I can imagine doing exactly that. But ending up on Caldbeck Commons.

Quality Frogging. If you’re having a good day out sometimes you don’t want it to end

Well yes, I understand. But this is leg 1 and with a finish far from guaranteed, you'd think that contenders would strive to take the most efficient lines Still, it's not for me to question I guess.

Did they not add in Binsey and Over Water while they were out that way?
