Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

I must admit I've been expecting someone to have a crack at an extended round. This could have been that opportunity :-)

Saw a piece on BBCs NW Today tv magazine a few days ago:
"University lecturer smashes fastest Lake District swimming record."

Interesting that his time was beaten last year by a swimmer using a car between lakes, while he biked. The bike won through this year, though. :)

Alex Staniforth is attempting a BG solo. Set off at 18:00 last night and is somewhere around Steeple, so his 24 hr target has gone.

He’s posted a lot on the move on Twitter. I can’t help but think he should be putting his efforts into the round, rather than social media.

I’ve started going to KCAC club nights on a Tuesday. There are a few lads and lasses expressing an interest in the BG. I might have to dig out my Mudclaws and maps :-O Makes me feel blooming old thinking about it now. In fairness no-one has said you don’t look like you’d have been capable Andrew (well, not yet)

That Dave (slightly paraphrased to be more general} is the the best piece of advice that could be given to so many (including it has to be said to many on this site). In summary do your talking when it's done!

To be fair, it looks like he had a support team for his ‘solo’ effort doing some tweeting for him. However he was doing some videos from the fells.

I couldn’t imagine wanting to be doing videos etc whilst out for a run that size. My language is bad enough when I have a bad patch on the LL50.

My language is fucking terrible when I’m not having a bad patch.

I can’t imagine having to make an effort to say ‘flipping wazzock’ instead of my usual words. It was hard enough for just over 24 hours with our nieces earlier this week.
