Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

I didn't realise they'd commited to ACW. Blinkin' 'eck! I did that scree descent off Gable a few weeks back and FF is right, you'd only go down there if you were sure that others had done it and survived to tell the tale. We should take bets on how far they'll get.

for their sake I hope they've got a good gpx track. We've had enough bad news for one week.

I think that's about all we can hope for. So .... I wonder if they've sorted out which way they're going UP Scafell, if they're just reversing a .gpx track they'll have great fun going up the scree under Rakehead Crag. And how about Scafell - Scafell Pike? I hope to Christ they don't try and downclimb BS :-( Finding the top of Deep Gill isn't straightforward if you don't know the lie of the land, so I hope they find the descent line to Foxes Tarn OK. Not that I'm suggesting that they should go down LR anyhow!

Yeah, I'm with you DT - they won't get further than Wasdale, I'm guessing it will be pull stumps before Red Pike.

Given the weather and state of the ground, that may manage to wing it a bit further. The top of Lord's Rake is (or at least used to be, it's been a few years!) reasonably obvious, with a couple of cairns bit like the top of the foxes tarn descent. And if they can't take a bearing from the summit... :(

I foolishly committed to a comment on the FRA forum last night. I'm trying to be less of a cynic. I was fuelled by a bottle of Hobgoblin, that's my excuse anyway.
