Let me know if you manage to get the tyres on the rims, NE. Mine nearly killed me (they were the AS ones, so maybe different).

Mmm, that doesn't bode well! Conti tyres are always swines.

I anticipate absolutely bloody freezing up here soonish NS. I’ve already cycled into town a week or so ago for work and had sore digits on the way home.

Question: Garmin Edge 530 (cheap on Amazon right now (not that cheap)), or Wahoo Elemnt Bolt?
I like the idea of the Garmin hills feature.
I have been using my gpsmap 65s on the bike, but it keeps falling off, and I almost destroyed it in a crash. It was expensive, and I like to use it ont'hills, so don't really want to risk totally trashing it.

I’m a Garmin fan. I know people who prefer Wahoo, but I’ve also had a couple of friends have Wahoos fail on them.

I like my Edge 530, but I've never really dug into a comparison with a Bolt, because I use a few Garmin devices and have for a while.
Climb Pro is OK, but I typically just end up flipping back to the navigation screen if I'm not familiar with the area, so I don't miss a turn. If I know the area, I probably know the climb well.
I think Wahoo has a similar facility, but puts the climb details on the map screen, which to my mind is a better idea.
Probably not helping with a decision, but both are likely to share most of the common features. It's only more obscure features that will distinguish them.

Edge 530 is an excellent piece of kit. I actually have the 520 plus (more or less the 530) and it's great value for money, all things considered. Better than the 820 I had.

It seems that people think the Wahoo buttons are more intuitive, and some things like the hill thing (I didn't think wahoo had this, but it seems it is better than Garmin) and the turn by turn notifications are more sensibly displayed on the wahoo.
Still leaning in favour of the Garmin, though...

To further confuse things, if it's climb features you're after, have a look at the Hammerhead Karoo 2. They have a new model out, and you may get a good deal on the 2.
DCRainmaker has a good comparison of their climb features.
