Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I like this TBR. More bread pudding than bread and butter - sticks to the ribs nicely. Y

Bread Pudding – serves 4

166g bread
333ml milk
1 egg
133g sugar
10ml vanilla extract
50g sultanas

Tear bread into small pieces. Heat milk and pour over. Beat egg, sugar and vanilla and stir into bread mix. Add sultanas. Leave to soak. Transfer to oven proof dish. Bake 180C for 40 minutes or until firm and golden brown.

Chocolate version:
As above but 120g brown sugar; 20g cocoa and 50g chocolate chips.

It's not much of a looker TBR! It can be eaten cold too or reheats happily in a microwave if you have leftovers.

Bread pudding is a staple with Audax riders and the unwashed tester-filth.

Delia's rich bread and butter pud but doesn't need cream, use extra milk.

A few kitchen disasters on the way (don't ask about the dropped cocoa and the clean up operation) but looks and smells OK

Hope it's enjoyed TBR. I tear the bread into very small pieces and make quite a mush before baking which is what makes it more bread pudding like - yours definitely looks more appealing!

That looks like bread and butter pudding, without the butter. :)

I might even try to make some for myself.
