MrsC managed to make me a carrot cake birthday cake over the last 24hours without me knowing :-O
And she spent about 9 hours WFH too. It tastes amazing; if there’s any left tomorrow I’ll get a photo :)

That rhubarb cake looks lovely.

I made a boiled fruit cake and included a bag of dried sour cherries. It has come out very dark, but tastes really lovely.

That's nice Angus.

Making scones (rhymes with bones) shortly. My wife spoke to someone yesterday with the speaker on. They said aitch with an exaggerated h. It sounded terrible. My wife said aitch properly. I remembered why I married her. She’s asked me to make the scones bigger than last time

I fancy cheese Fonz today. My Good Housekeeping recipe calls them cheese & herb but then only adds mustard (no herbs). I’m not convinced it’s the recipe I’ve used before but I can’t remember what I did last time, it was so long ago.

I’ll let you know how it goes. :)

That cake looks lovely HP. My mum used to make a rhubarb and banana pie which I loved but people thought was weird. I'm now thinking I can make a rhubarb and banana cake; although the combination with orange sounds sublime.

Rosehip
saw twatter and farcebook up in flames about that this morning!
Strawberry flavored cream sounds nice if you can't get clotted cream - but it's not the way to serve a scone properly!
