Where do the totals come from? Certainly the figures for Simms and Marilyns aren't correct though I wondered if it was from the radii target points are triggered, etc.

Although that said, I can see at least 2 of my collected Marilyns, which aren't Marilyns. Not sure about the Simms.

Would be handy on the map point callouts to indicate which list they are in. One nearby that I'm not aware of and it would be nice to know where to look to find its details. Yes, please! |

Is it the trig point list that is creating the *apparent* duplication of points on the map? Here’s my local height: The highlighted point is a 200-299 metre TUMP and the one next to it is a trig point. The trig point is pretty much at the highest point of a relatively flat plateau and I would have expected them to match. Interestingly, this doesn’t appear to be an issue in the Lakes, where I have looked at a few fells with trig points and there is only a single mapped point. This is not a request for Fetch to do anything different, as it all flows from the well-curated-and-pored-over databases elsewhere, but has anyone else found overlaps (or even conflicts) between the various source datasets? |

Just been and walked to a local trig point. It got me to places where I've never walked before, so that was good. A 9 mile round trip for one trig point though, and a lot of climbing. That was hard graft. But I think this idea is brilliant. |

Total discrepancies maybe down to the sub- lists. I will try to mark those differently.

♪♫ Synge ♪♫, I've noticed in the past that not all high points are listed as the trig points hence probably the different radii. I presume as more accurate measurements on high points are found the trigs can become in the apparent "wrong" place.

If interested, col O of the trig file links to a TrigPointing UK page with details of the TP, and how to find it, including where necessary house names to ask for permission etc. Col P has a link to a Bing OS map for the point. Or you can make your own. The trig point page is (without the space, and with the trig point number instead of the nnnn) http ://www.trigpointinguk.com/trigs/trig-details.php?t=nnnn The OS web page is, replacing the lat and long at the end with the one you want http ://www.bing.com/maps/default.aspx?lvl=17&style=s&cp=51.00330884~-1.65016716 Although I expect Fetch will have them hyperlinked in before his first coffee break on Monday |
