Managed to scare myself silly on a squat. I'm quite worried about chucking it backwards if I need to. I shouldn't need to, I should just fall forward onto the spotter bars, but yesterday's issue wasn't that I couldn't lift it, but that I lost my balance a bit.

It happens sometimes, Mac. As long as it's only happening occasionally rather than regularly I guess you just have to shrug it off.
Did my first "Proper" weights session tonight since late October. Life and injuries had dropped it out of my routine since then. Kept everything fairly light and comfortable (Squat, Clean, Overhead Press, Pull ups, sit ups) but I reckon I'm going to know about it tomorrow!

Definitely need to work on my cleans technique, realisted I was straight legged in the catch when I did a few today. Got some squats done without problems, though I was a bit nervy

There are some good YouTube bits on clean technique knocking about, Mac. I’ll send you some links if you think it might help.

I'm back on the regular weights sessions again. I kind of fell off the wagon in October and it's a bit depressing how much I've had to drop the weight to get going again. Still, I can build from here and whatever happens I'm getting stronger.

Well done Nellers
I hit my 21st consecutive week with a gym session this week, very pleased despite a dodgy shoulder and a pulled arse muscle which limits what i’ve been able to do recently

7 sessions in the last 4 weeks for me so I’ve got some catching up to do!
Well done on that consistency, lammo. That’s excellent. Hope your arse recovers.
Jeez that sounds wrong!

Consistency is key. Even if you’re only doing something once or twice a week. I have utterly failed to be consistent at anything for a whole year now. As it happens, I’m also the fattest I’ve ever been; fairly sure there’s a direct correlation.

I'm actively trying this year to not push any particular session or week to any sort of extreme, but just to make sure I'm able to do the next session or the next week. Obviously that's going to be a better option in the long run but in the past I've been less than sensible at times. Maybe I'm finally growing up at 53?
