Skipping and burpees to warm up then Squats, cleans, strict overhead press and pull ups this evening for the proper strength but.
Followed it up with press ups and kettlebell swings.
No dining of Love is in the Air took place at any stage, and there was very limited grinning opportunity either.

Not done anything for 10 days due to illness. Feels really weird. Off to do 48 hours sleep deprivation up supporting ultra runners on WHW as replacement / punishment. Keep training hard peeps! G

I enjoyed this, from today's Times
The first time someone suggested I try weightlifting, I was appalled. In my mind this was the province of steroid-inflated bodybuilders. Bad enough for a man to look like that, but I considered it even worse for a woman: hipless bodies ripped to single-digit body fat, breast implants riding proudly on hypertrophied pecs. Not for me, thank you very much. My bag, back then, was running. I put in a minimum of 20 miles a week. I loved being outside, I loved being on my own and I loved the simplicity of lacing up and heading out. And then, like a lot of people who only run, I built up a small collection of injuries.

Deadlifts, cleans, bench, pull ups tonight. Followed it with an EMOM for 20 minutes: 3 lift complexes of deadlift, clean, hang clean, push press at 30kg. Fairly light to start with but 15 minutes in and I was feeling it!

Very hot in The Shed tonight (32C) but I still Got Stuff Done. Squats, Bench Press, Overhead Press and Pull Ups. Didn't do anything extra after that as it was just too damned hot!
