I'm running the ABC tonight - a very local race for me. I did it last year (43:47)... unlikely to drag myself around in less than 45 this time. I wonder what happened to my fancy prize socks - only wore them once.
Quite similar route to the Horsforth 10K (same 1st 1K and same canal section) ... less road/ more trail, not quite as much uphill in the first half (but still a climb between 2-3K), and it's a lot longer still to go once you get back to the school. The canal section is obviosuly pretty flat but can be a bitch if the wind is against you (and, yes, the path has some pretty sharp stoney sections). Can get a bit boggy at around the 4K point by the river ... I expected it to have dried out during the last week but last night's/today's rain may have re-bogged it.
I expect it to involve a lot of pain.

I'll be there - did it last year and hated it, wasnt going to do it especially since I raced on Tuesday and have another race this sunday however I think it will be better than I remember and I'll enjoy/endure it

Chromey - is that the one we were in last time? Slight complication is that I have to drive home and can't make L do it (all sorts of car stress today) but should be able to manage one.

Not doing this this year. Loved it last year, except for dying completely along the canal. Was going to do it, but the whole Wharfedale Half thing on Sat is making me sensible (first time for everything).
