Fragile Do Not Bend
I went for folding as they are shorter when folded than telescopic ones. This was with a view to being able to attach them to a race vest when not needed.

I had planned to take the poles we have away this weekend for a bit of a practice.

They're the telescopic type (so the height could be adjusted for 6ft son, me or 5ft nothing mum) which as Frag says, are longer than folding ones.

Anyone have a trick for carrying them - I can't work out how to attach them to either vest or pack without them annoying me and being in the way if I want to run or walk without them.

Does the pack have straps (or bungee holes) to clip/strap them vertically to the side?
Or horizontally across the top, taking care, 'cos you'll whack people when you turn suddenly.

Anything that lets them swing will get irritating.

Or pass them to 6ft son and say 'your turn'. (may be best option ;-) )

I'v need up just carrying them when not using them, RH, and they do get in the way. Bungee straps would be the idea solution.

I’ve just bought one of these vests, for lots of reasons including having multiple ways to attach poles.

harrierrunfree.co.uk

I can’t comment on how well that works as it literally arrived this morning.

I'm on my own this time ( :) )
I have a Salomon 5L vest and 12L pack neither of their pole systems work as they must be designed for folding ones

They have to go at the back, they're too long for front or side - might be a way to do it with eastic hair bands...
Looks like I shall practice with them on a walk where I may need them all the way around without long flat bits (or catching a bus)

um
Is this any help - there does seem to be other videos for other vests/packs ..
(it's even telescopic poles, not folding, and they go diagonally - which surprised me)

I've been look at instructions all day and missed that one - that should work - assuming my vest has the same attachments. They've all used short folding ones differently.
