I didn’t like St Peters. I think the 0.5% “alcohol free” beers are much better than the 0.0%. I think it is the difference between a conventional brew but suppressing the fermentation for the 0.5%s, and removing the alcohol for the 0.0%s

Bud Prohibition was broadly as acceptable as Heinneken 0.0 and Flat Tyre based on last night's tasting.

Erdinger and Ghost Ship currently top of the (alco free)pops.

A thought popped into my head this morning.

Plenty of my colleagues bring cans of coke / diet coke to work and drink them at their desks.

If I brought a can of Nanny State or Heinekken 0.0 in to work to drink, would that be OK? And if not, why not?

(I'm still perpetually confused by the fact that I need to get store authorisation on self service checkouts to buy alco free beer - can't quite understand that!)

Do it a few times and then start putting regular beer in the bottles and putting the caps back on...

Another supermarket last night so some additional ones to add to the testing pile. Old Speckled Hen low alcohol, an unpronounceable German white beer (had last night, good) and Infinite Session acquired for testing purposes.

This Lent is going far better than last year when I trialed alco free wine which was, predictably, revolting.

So far I'm much of a muchness across Flat Tire, Heineken 0.0, and Bud Prohibition. They're all ahead of Becks Blue and way ahead of St Peters.

Erdinger is still up there as my favourite so far, and Ghost Ship and Nanny State offer something a bit different and ahead of the three I mentioned first.

The Mighty Fleecy
I tried Weird Weekend (bit too strong for me), the raspberry one (I like it but my brain keeps expecting sweetness due to the fruit) and Big Drop brown ale (really nice)

Plenty more to try, I bought lots of different ones!

Is it just me, or in the last year or so has the range here massively expanded? I keep finding new ones to try!

Yes it definitely has. The range for Tesco online has at least doubled since Jan 2018. Used to be Becks, Bavaria, and a couple of others that dipped in and out of availability
