Just been foraging in the cupboard. Found three packets of golden vegetable rice, one of which I know was bought last week.
(Tea ended up as a bit past BBE veggie burgers (from dry mix) and also past BBE microwave rice. Just the ditto falafel mix to use then. And some dates.)

During lockdown I started buying or trying to buy a replacement as soon as I started the last of something
I think this is why I have multiples
I had 3 unopened tubes of tomato paste at one point

Ness
For Mr Ness, recently it's been tinned salmon. He noticed in Asda, there was a pricing anomaly. The big tin of red salmon that they stock was cheaper than a small tin so he picked up 3 tins, thinking some store manager will spot that and put the price up soon. The next week, the price hadn't changed so he did the same again. Another 3 tins in the trolley. At which point I spotted all the tins in the cupboard. Why? I asked. Because I forgot I'd bought them the week before, he said! 🤣

I tend to forget that we're a household of two old people, not a household of two middle aged endurance athletes and a load of unfillable teenagers.

We've just moved into the unfillable teenage boy stage and there is NEVER enough food in the house. Or rather, never enough snacks.
Child 2 and Mr IM will only eat Waitrose wholenut peanut butter (FFS) but it's the only thing I ever buy from Waitrose so I go in and clear them out of the green-top peanut butter every 3 months or so and then put it out of my head - because we have an entire cupboard full of it - and nobody ever thinks to tell me when they open the last jar.

Jars of Hellman's mayonnaise - I opened one of three this weekend. Green scouring pads - that got to the stage where I had to write a Do Not Buy list In lockdown 1 I tidied up my tinned foods cupboard. 24 tins of tuna in various iterations. We're a household of two, and OH is not keen on tuna anyway.

I have three jars apiece of sushi ginger and pickled lemons but I keep forgetting to buy caraway seeds and lemongrass paste. Which all sounds very Overheard In Waitrose but they're just flavourings for carbohydrate.
