I was in B&Q and trying to persuade them to let me take a basin (cost £14.99) through the checkout for free because then I could apply to have it officially designated as part of Pitcairn Island (and I think if I then stood in it9 I would be a Pitcairn Islander). In the end I think they agreed I could have it for free as long as I bought another one at the normal pricemmm
Diogenes Nov 2024 1:26pm, 18 Nov 2024 89,392 posts	0 Diogenes Part of many weird and wonderful dreams last night was a section where I was being buttonholed by some stranger with a bee in his bonnet about some upcoming national examinations and questions which were being excluded for some reason, and another issue which I can no longer recall. It was then that I remembered that I had been elected as Conservative MP for the constituency where I grew up. I had only stood as a joke and hadn't expected to be elected. Indeed, I had forgotten all about it and hadn't even been to the House once. Now it appeared I had some sort of responsibility for education.

I had several dreams last night, all of which I really remember is that the greenhouse in the garden was considerably larger, especially wider, and now contained a large grape vine (irl I have two small vines) and a cherry tree, whose branches spread along much of the roof. There was also something about ensuring there were plenty of insects for pollenation. The previous night I had a very long dream where I was swimming down a river (oddly, in my clothes, which somehow did not become completely soaked), with another (unknown) person. At one point though, where I had decided to ride the stronger current in the middle of the river, I came out as there had been a small touristy shopping arcade built in the river. From there I could access a beach, which had warm water and low waves but a surprisingly strong tide. I said hello to at least three people I knew on the beach (though not sure who). After being swept in, then back out, I bodysurfed (quite impressively) back in. On the next in, I had obtained a tea tray, and did some tricks (more skateboard than surf) as I came back to shore.

I was at a running festival where there were a variety of distances. I was scheduled to be in the half-marathon which started at 1.00 pm. All the participants were sitting in and around their cars waiting to be called forward. With 15 minutes to go, the runners were called forward and w all moved towards the start. Going against the norm (and more like a backyard ultra), runners had to cross the start line before 1.00 pm. Like some dreams, I found myself tempted to run on all fours which makes me quicker. However, on this occasion, I told myself to stand up and run properly.

I was at a party at the top of a high bridge building but the time was ticking down to the party ending and the officials coming to empty it so I had to get out before they found me. I sought support from a black woman who worked at the counter. Only a snapshot of a much longer and more involved dream that is now disappearing.

I befriended another guy and was there to support him get an acting role in a forthcoming stage production. Before and after his interview, I was invited to help myself to a chocolate bar or two, so I took a Milky Way.
Fragile Do Not Bend Dec 2024 9:51pm, 1 Dec 2024 12,185 posts	0 Fragile Do Not Bend Yesterday IRL, Mr F and I took a trip on the cable car over the Thames for me to do Victoria Dock parkrun. It was the last weekend the cable car was running early enough to use pre-parkrun. I guess something about it was playing on my mind because it featured in my dream the night before. Firstly it was cancelled that morning because it was too windy, then for some reason we were having to get a bus to get there and that was causing all sorts of issues. Dreams about travelling and difficulties getting to places are a common theme in my dreams. That and trying to find a toilet.
