For context my new boss is currently being recruited.
In my dream we were voting for them. The choice was between three men who then appeared to be in a relationship together and running a cooking show!
This switched to walking along the road with others and noticing two men with high pony tails - one blue, one yellow. We were all talking surreptitious glances and choosing our favourite.
I was at an animal sanctuary where, due to loss of land, animals needed re homing. I helped clear an area which appeared to be a warehouse and got the bus home clutching a motorcycle helmet which had animals in it! The person I was with was more experienced at this and said we couldn’t open the packages until home. When I got home (although at times I was still travelling) my OH and I opened the helmet. Lots of rats were in it. He was excited as a rats fan and was tempted to keep them. I was more wary, particularly when we realised they had a bad flea infestation. I woke up after sweeping loads of fleas off the bed.
I was at work although I was hoping to take part in a half-marathon which was starting nearby at 11.00 am. I had forgotten to ask one of the managers if I could have an early and extended lunch break to take part. They were supposedly in a meeting and I couldn't find them anyway.
I then had issues locating all my running kit, which I eventually found. However, I could only find my old, tatty running shoes or my son's trainers which are four sizes too big for me. While all this was going on, the race had started and I could hear someone on the Tannoy saying that "the runners were still going through the start line."
Unfortunately, I never made it to the start line or saw any of the runners before I woke up.
Another running dream last week but a bit shorter.
It was the Olympic Marathon somewhere in Europe but was scheduled to start at 3.00 am. I was in the British team and Steve Ovett was also in the race. Despite the early start, a big crowd turned out and the race started suddenly.
The pace was fairly slow and I found myself somewhere around 8th to 10th place. I was wondering whether my family were able to see me on television. The course started by running around a shopping centre. All of a sudden a few of the runners lost their shoes and an Australian runner was disqualified... but that was it.
I was in a shop and there was a free-standing display unit of a particular brand of noodles. I woke before I could examine it in detail to find if they had the duck flavour my mother likes.
(Aldi sold in the noodles, but just in the normal racks. I ate a pack of the tom yum ones last night. They are from Lithuania, and were a special item.)
Another running dream for me. Was in a half marathon race and running better than I have for ages. Felt I was on for a good time. Anyway, before long I notice there aren't any marshals, or signs/markings on the route. Somehow I'm the only one, (out of hundreds) who takes a wrong turn. For some reason, (hey, it's dreamworld!) I stopped at a cafe and sat outside with some other runners I knew and we were drinking tea/coffee. I checked how far they had run so far and they reckoned about 7 miles - I had only managed 3 miles of the course as I had got lost. I was determined to carry on and try and finish and set off again cursing the poor organisation, frustrated as I was running so well.
