I might have complained about this before but Costa are hopeless if you're in any sort of a hurry - a five-person queue takes about 2-3 minutes to clear in most Prets, and about 15-20 minutes to clear in Costa. If you're near a Carluccio's, they do really nice take-away coffee (I don't know what beans but they do have a Gaggia)... |

Red Squirrel, I think if I ever take up betting on horse racing I will use the same strategy.

Jen, it works for horse racing! We once parked at the back of a main street in a town, and to get to the street, we sneaked through a betting office. I also used their loo. I felt guilty, so decided to place a bet. I chose the horse called Teddybear, because its rider was wearing an orange blouse thing... I like orange. I like teddies and the horse was white... So I placed a £1 bet and won £104 So I then still felt guilty LOL |

Reminds me of the Dublin tendency to refer to toilet cubicles as "Trap 1, Trap 2", etc, as in greyhound races...

I temped once at the regional office of a bookmaker and it was above a betting shop. They showed me the loo for the betting shop. You had to walk across a plank over a muddy backyard to an outside loo which was stained and had caked-on bits. The seat had been ripped off.

No, this loo was respectable The girl in the shop pointed to a fat, sweatty man in the corner though saying: don't go near him, he stinks! I went away to do my shopping, then came back and checked if I'd won anything, rather than wait and watch the racing live |

I'm needing to get some more beans next week: I'm torn between the El Borbollon and Finca La Fany. I've had the Sumatran the last few times and have also tried the Kenyan and Brazilian. twodaycoffee.co.uk |
