Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Fun tonight adding an LED strip over my gaggia's water tank. Solves the persistent problem of not being able to see the water level but more imporantly a bit of gadget fun and pimping :-)

Don't have my grinder where I'm living so bought Waitrose ground Sumatran Mandheling. Bloody lovely! Rich, smooth, strong, bitter.

I was a latecomer to coffee and went travelling around south-east Asia in my thirties. After flying to Singapore and then getting a boat to Sumatra, we eventually arrived in Bukittinggi. That's where I decided to have a local coffee with my breakfast. Oh my! Hooked from then on. It was probably Mandheling. Bean to cup from about a mile away.

I loved the coffee we had in my tour around Indonesia(Well Bali and Java) in 2019. Lots of single estate coffees. Brought some back with me but wish it had been more. I enjoy a good quality Robusta coffee occasionally (although I am conscious the caffeine content tends to be higher) but that isn’t something you get much of over here.

James Hoffman is delving into the world of the aeropress on youtube:

Episode 4 will discuss metal filters, and maybe even the rinse & reuse of paper filters for anyone that frugal.

Enjoy!
