Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I really do intend on taking them some flowers and perhaps some coffee beans round as a thank you !! It’s de longhi I still make my big coffee press jug of morning but have the machine the rest of the day

That’s a good deal! I had a bean to cup in a previous workplace. Was marvellous.

Not worth me getting a coffee machine myself as I only have a coffee when at work and don’t tend to drink coffee at the weekend.

Anyone in London should check out “Algerian Coffee Stores” on Old Compton Street, an amazing experience!

Gosh, rmo3b, had your friend's husband done something which had made her very angry? :-o

I'm looking at a very cheap moka pot Lidl are getting in soon (never had one): they will also have kilo bags of beans.

He upgraded Dvorak. Can’t believe she gave it away though as I just saw her selling an old canon printer on Facebook for £30 ?!?

I only buy lidl and Aldi coffee now. It all tastes good to me with cream in!

If anyone would like a Cona-type vacuum coffee maker super-cheap, I spotted this on Amazon (via camelcamelcamel) amazon.co.uk Bodum 8-cup £12.94 (75p cheaper today than yesterday!) Launched in 2011 at £55 and has been around £37 for most of its history.

For something fancier there are mini-ones (5-cup) with stand and burner from £32 amazon.co.uk ... or you could by an actual Cona for £218.

I like that Dvorak.
Do you have one? What is the coffee like? And it seems you need to buy the burner separately?

My father has one. A genuine Cona. About 55 years old. Coffee is good, and its an entertainment to watch. It is used quite sparingly. His is, and always has been, used on an ordinary gas stove. Did you watch the wee video? It shows it used on a halogen hob.
