Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Siphon / vacuum coffee. As the water boils it's forced up from the bottom ball into the top, and when you remove the heat the vacuum created when it cools pulls the liquid back down through the grounds.

Amazing! Love it! How does the coffee compare to using a stove top espresso pot?

It's not forced through the grounds under pressure, so it's more like a French press than an espresso, but quite a nice clear bright brew. The fabric filter makes sure you get no grounds at all in your cup. Easy to control how long you want it to steep for.
To be honest, I just like the look / act of using it :-D

I seriously like the look and the ritualistic/chemistry way of making it. I think I shall get one for my new Herb Building when it is built.

I don't think there's anyone that likes coffee that doesn't enjoy some parts of the "fuss" that comes along with it. Love the idea of that contraption, I would imagine it tastes similar to an aeropress coffee, though much more theatrical!
