Very wet, very windy in Elan Valley too. Survived my marshalling experience, though the last hour was really not much fun. I stand by a cattle grid (I have had this marshalling point for several years running), making sure no-one tries to run across the grid, but through the open gate beside it. They all run past me twice, on their way out and on their way back, which is why I'm there for such a long time. To my surprise, the wet managed to get through my walking boots (which have always proved waterproof before, even if I've splashed through a stream in them) and through the two pairs of socks I was wearing inside them. But at least it wasn't cold. "Positively tropical" said one of the other marshals, with rain pouring off his shoulders.

Putting my running kit on in the hope it might get a bit better. It'll be a short run round town rather than the 12 miles planned but better than nothing.
