Having got in to Dublin Marathon, and being monumentally unfit, I've decided the sensible option is to start from scratch. So loosely following Hal Higdon's novice training plan. My last marathon was 14 years ago, I've had a really shitty few years, so Dublin is exactly what's needed to focus my mind and allow me to get back to what I love. Slowly building up the race entries too - Cartmel 18k is a cracking run, can't wait for that one, and Millport 10 miler is another beautiful race, great atmosphere and the bonus of a vintage car show the day before!
