Just back from lovely paddle - took it easy for first trip out of the year - 6.5 miles 😳think my arms might hurt tomorrow 😂

Will now catch up on all training etc

Not my best day at the office. I dressed for warm weather (vest, shorts) but still overheated massively and actually felt properly nauseous around mile 4. Decided I’d pull out at halfway so let my club mates go ahead of me. Got to halfway, reassessed, plugged my earpods in, put on some music and just kept putting one foot in front of the other. Still felt really hot. And - wrong shoes. The race info said trail shoes but there was a lot of tarmac and my feet hurt like crazy. Had to stop and massage them every mile from mile 6. Anyway. Only finished a couple of minutes behind the others and I’m pleased I decided not to give myself an excuse to stop for a change.
